چکیده

Background: Varus knee is a common deformity of the joint, which usually accompanied by osteoarthritis, especially medial compartment. High tibial osteotomy good solution for varus transferring load from compartment to more healthy lateral slowing progression osteoarthritis. Objectives: To assess changes joint and ankle orientations after open wedge high osteotomy. Patients Methods: This prospective study was done on consecutive sample 20 patients who were admitted Al-Azhar University Hospital during period between October 2017 2019 with knee. Exclusion criteria severe periarticular fractures, cruciate ligament insufficiency, previous operations inflammatory arthritis. All had undergone giving informed consents. Patients followed up 6 months. Results: Preoperatively mTFA -9.33°, TPI -6.38°, KJLO -0.40°, AJLO 7.6°, PH 0.93 PTS 7.53°. Their postoperative measurements changed 1.75°, 2.5°, 2.03°, -0.03°, 0.86 8.93° respectively. Conclusion: After osteotomy, posterior slope plateau inclination increased, patellar height decreased, orientation line became parallel ground laterally tilted.
